Surf

Limited Surf Sessions are included in our Waco Surf Hotel Packages. Public Surf Sessions available for purchase will be released in late March, 2024. These are first come, first served. All guests intending to surf will need to book and pay for their sessions prior to arrival, these will not be available to purchase on site.

Head to the Waco Surf website to learn more about their surf sessions: https://www.wacosurf.com/surf-lagoon-faq/

We strongly recommend boards no longer than 8ft in the intermediate and expert sessions as the pool does get pretty shallow pretty quickly and we’ve seen all too many custom single fins hit the concrete bottom (brutal to watch). Only soft tops are allowed in the beginner session for safety reasons.

The surf lagoon water temp changes dramatically, reflecting the air temperature the days before your session! Check the Waco Surf top website banner for daily water temp updates.

Absolutely not. State law requires everyone in our surf lagoon to have a flotation device that can support your weight. This means no body surfing, hand planes, wompers or just general frolicking and swimming. If you are accompanying a guest in a private surf session (i.e. filming) you will need a coast certified life jacket. We have some on site you can borrow!

Although we don’t have an age restriction for the surf sessions – we do require that all surfers be proficient swimmers and their parents supervise them either out of the water or close by in the water (but not in the way of other surfers).

Unfortunately, split Public Surf Sessions are no longer allowed for the surf lagoon. Safety is our number one priority and having guests exit and enter the water is a potential safety risk.

The beginner/Malibu wave is our smallest wave – reaching knee to thigh height. This is a point break type wave, and comes in sets of 3 every 80 seconds or so. There are 30 minutes of lefts, and 30 minutes of rights. There are coaches in the water with you to help you shred! Soft-top board rental is included in the session price (excluding the optional insurance fee).

The intermediate/longboard/Jetty wave is our mid tier wave – reaching stomach to chest height. This is a mellow rolling wave, and comes in sets of 3 every 80 seconds or so. There are 30 minutes of lefts, and 30 minutes of rights. Board rental is not included in the session price.

The expert/Lowers wave is our performance wave – reaching chest to head height. This is a screamer of a wave – we’ve seen tube rides and aerials on this setting. There is an expert disclaimer associated with this wave…so it’s serious. Board rental is not included in the session price. There are 30 minutes of lefts and 30 minutes of rights with a 3-wave set rolling through every 80 seconds or so.

That’s going to be a no from us…

The water is filtered through a three-phase, state-of-the-art system that includes disk filtration, media filtration, and the addition of ozone, bleach, and chlorine.

There's a dude in the corner of the lagoon with a bodyboard pushing it up and down. His name's Reef. And if that's not the actual answer, it's probably proprietary...

Water Slides & Lazy River

Nope, just a height limit! You must be 44” or taller to use the Wedge water slides. Life jackets are provided for everyone using the water slides. Everyone using the Wedge Water Slides is required to wear a life jacket - no exceptions.

There is no age restriction for the lazy river. All children under 52″ must wear a life jacket on the lazy river.

All guests under the age of 18 years old need to have a legal guardian with them at all times. They will also need to have their legal guardian sign their waiver on their behalf. Guests over the age of 18 years old are welcome to visit us, as long as they have a legal guardian sign their waiver prior to arrival.

Yes, we provide tubes for the lazy river. No tubes are allowed in the Wedge Slide Lagoon or Surf Lagoon.

The water is filtered through a three-phase, state-of-the-art system that includes disk filtration, media filtration, and the addition of ozone and chlorine.

Cable Park

All Cable Park riders need to be 6 years or older.

Yes, there are wakeboards, lifejackets and helmets available to rent for all Cable Park riders. It is a state requirement to wear a US coast guard approved life jacket, and helmet to use the Cable Park.

The beginner setting spins at 16mph, and the advanced setting spins at 21mph!
